The Evolution of Enlightened Beauty

When I think about Enlightened Beauty and how our company has evolved, I am filled with gratitude. Enlightened Beauty has created a fire inside me that I could have never imagined. We are advocates for the LGBTQIA2S+ and neurodivergent communities, we seek to create a safe space for ALL PEOPLE to come and be themselves, and we are creating a beauty business that is sustainable and supportive for our employees at the very same time.

When Enlightened Beauty started she was a typical commission and tipping salon. We later added skin care services, got serious about the environment, and made a conscious effort to help our community and environment as much as we can. Covid happened, and we realized how unsupportive our industry is as far as fair wages and unemployment benefits. We then concentrated on making our space safe and supportive for our team, ridding ourselves of the commission and tipping structure and paying our team a healthy, reliable hourly wage and offering benefits.

There was something undeniable about our salon and spa. We had a plethora of trans and queer guests. We also had guests with specific needs that we affirmed and supported. We started to intentionally verbalize who we were and what we were about. We've since attracted the guests that think and feel similarly to what we’re creating, and it’s been so fun to experience the changes and growth each day. We become more clear all the time on where we are going and what we are offering. We’re open, willing to take any and all suggestions, and want to see each guest walk out our door loving their time spent with us and the results they receive!
